One person is dead and another was flown to the hospital after a crash Wednesday morning on North Bayside Road in Northampton County.
Virginia State Police say the crash happened around 8:20 a.m. in the 21000 block of North Bayside Road, just north of Cheriton.
According to preliminary investigations, the driver, identified as 29-year-old Antoinette Young, was traveling on N. Bayside Road when she went across the double solid lines into the eastbound lanes, ran off the roadway, and struck a utility pole.
State Police say Young’s passenger and mother, 52-year-old Cape Charles resident Michelle Deval Young, died upon impact. Antoinette was flown by a medevac helicopter to Norfolk Sentara Hospital.
