Accomack reports two new COVID deaths; Eastern Shore reports 11 test positives

Accomack County reported its 38th and 39th death attributed to COVID-19 by the Department of Health since the start of the pandemic Tuesday morning. Accomack also reported one additional hospitalization along with five additional test positives. Northampton County reported six additional COVID-19 test positives. The Eastern Shore processed 42 tests for a test positive rate of 26.1%.

As of Tuesday morning, Accomack has administered 10,492 of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and 6,425 have received both. In Northampton, 5,064 have been given the first dose and 3,251 have been fully vaccinated.

Virginia reported 991 additional COVID-19 test positives with 441 probable cases.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association reported current confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations increased by 54 to 910 statewide.

20 additional deaths were reported statewide with three additional probable deaths.

The Virginia Department of Health processed 13,340 tests for a test positive rate of 7.4%.
