Mrs. Mary W. Evans, 96, of Modest Town, VA, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Onancock, VA. Born March 7, 1924 in Marion, NC, she was a daughter of the late Milton Finley Greene and Margaret Edna Craig Greene. Mrs. Evans was a secretary for the National Association of Manufacturers and a longtime member of Modest Town Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Leonard “Charlie” Evans; and her brothers and sisters, Ward and Perry Greene, Faye G. Davis, and Vera G. Goode. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Modest Town Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., with The Reverend John Cullop officiating.
