Suspect under arrest after Cape Charles incident

An individual is under arrest following the incident in Cape Charles Saturday evening.

According to Cape Charles Town Manager John Hozey, Cape Charles police officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 500 block of Tazewell Ave at 5:03 PM. Upon arrival, officers located one victim who was declared dead at the scene.

A suspect was swiftly taken into custody at 5:07pm.

Hozey said the names of the deceased and the person under arrest would not be released at this time.

There is no threat to the public with the sole suspect in custody. Northampton County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
