The Central Accomack Senior Boys Allstars held on to a 4-3 lead to take down Florida Sunday in Safety Harbor, Florida. The game was scoreless for three innings but was interrupted by a lightening delay. Play resumed after 15 minutes only to be delayed again by lightening for about thirty minutes.
Play then resumed again and CALL picked up two runs but there was another delay. This was a protest that the CALL runner interfered with the Florida player causing the second run to score. This delay was about 30 minutes. The call on the protest went to Accomack and when play resumed the score was still 2-0. In the top of the 5th Florida stormed back with three runs making the score 3-2. CALL came back in the bottom of the 5th with two more runs and retook the lead 4-3.
A sizzling double play took Florida out of the top of the sixth. CALL failed to score in the bottom of the 6th. Florida batted first in the 7th and a 1-2-3 inning by Everette Savage ended the game with a final score of 4-3.
For CALL Luke Parks, Everett Savage and Armonte Dickerson had one hit apiece. Tyler Greene got the win, pitching 3.2 innings giving up 2 hits but no runs. Everette Savage got the save pitching 3.1 innings with no hits but giving up 3 runs. Savage had 2 RBIs and one apiece for Dylan Marshall and Zykeese Davis.
Up next Central Accomack takes on South Carolina Monday at 3:45 pm. If they win Monday they will play in the Championship Game on Wednesday.
