Joynes wins 33rd Annual Captain Zed’s Flounder Tournament

33rd Annual Captain Zed's Flounder Tournament Winners

Local angler Tyler Joynes held on to win the 33rd Annual Capt. Zed’s Flounder Tournament out of Wachapreague, Virginia. Joynes weighed in his 7 pound 7 ounce fish on Monday, April 29. Joynes also won the local’s category in the tournament.

The rest of the field remained unchanged since Friday. Parris Sexton of Delaware took him 2nd with a 7 pound half ounce fish. In 3rd was Danny Cox of Maryland with a 6 pound 3.5 ounce fish.

Tanya Harding from Maryland finished fourth with a 6 pound 1.5 ounce fish, which also took first place in the Women’s category. Andrew Ault, from Ohio, rounded out the top 5 with a 5 pound 13 ounce fish.

Winning in the Children’s Category was Asher Hines, who weighed in a 4 pound 2.5 ounce flounder after the first day of fishing.
