Fire reported at Northampton High School Tuesday night determined false alarm

At 8:15 p.m. fire units from Eastville, Nassawadox, Cheriton and Cape Charles were dispatched to Northampton High School.  Sheriffs officers on scene reported smoke in a hallway and the building.

At 8:30 responding units were advised to slow their response.  At 8:37 command reported that the units currently on scene would be adequate and the responding units at that time could return to service.

At 8:40 it was reported that the situation was under control that the power was off at the building and  all units with the exception of Eastville could return to station. The Eastville Fire Company investigated the smoke and determined there to be no smoke.

At 8:52 Eastville reported at 8:52 that there was no smoke and they would also be  terminating command and returning to the station.
