A high speed chase that involved pursuit of two suspects who may have been involved in more than one robbery this morning has ended with an accident on Rt. 13 in Exmore. Acccording to WMDT.com, a “strong armed robbery” occurred at Advance Auto Parts in Pocomoke City at around 9 a.m. Thursday morning, Maryland police say the same suspects also committed two robberies in Accomack County before robbing Advance Auto Parts.
They then headed south. Following a high speed chase by the Accomack County Sheriff’s Department, the Virginia State Police, the Exmore Town Police, the Northampton Sheriff’s Department and other law enforcement agencies, a vehicle containing the suspects crashed on Route 13 at Exmore.
The accident was at the McDonalds/Hardees intersection on Rt 13 with traffic being rerouted around the accident scene for several hours. Unofficial reports say that four vehicles were involved in the crash.
The investigation is still underway. Unofficial reports state that a suspect is in custody.
Both lanes on Rt, 13 are now open.
