Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled its next seminar, “Overshoot in the Anthropocene: The Human Footprint in the 21st Century.” The free 90-minute seminar will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 5 in the Room 113 of the Academic building of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.

John Durmick will present Part 1 of 3 scheduled presentations reviewing the dramatic impact Homo Sapiens is having on the Earth.  This Part will focus on the effects of the ecological mechanisms and evolutionary pressures and adaptations that have allowed us to become the dominant species on the planet.

Durmick is a Managing Partner in a software business and lives on Church Creek near Franktown, Va.
