The Nandua Lady Warriors softball team defeated the Northampton Lady Jackets by a score of 5-2. The Warriors got on the board first with 1 run in the first and second innings and then scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Lady Jackets scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning to make the score 4-2, but the Warriors scored one more in the bottom of the 6th inning to make the final score 5-2.
Alana Shea was the winning pitcher for the Warriors. She pitched 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and walking 2 while striking out 9 batters. Reaghan Hintz came in and pitched the final inning giving up 1 hit while striking out 2 batters.
Jillian Spence took the loss for the Lady Jackets. She pitched 6 innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and striking out 2 batters.
The Warriors were led by Reagan Justice and Bailey Taylor with 2 hits each. Haylie Justice had one hit with 2 RBIs.
The Lady Jackets were led by Peyton Sayers who hit a two run home run.
With the win, the Lady Warriors move to 2-1 on the season and the Lady Jackets fall to 0-3 on the season.
