Tuesday night a public hearing was held in Northampton County that was a result of the school board requesting an increase of $597,103 in order to appropriate the balances remaining in the federal awards after reimbursements were processed. This was explained that this money was from the federal government and if not spent on individual designated line items it would have to be refunded to the government. All of this money will go to what is called title programs with the County having 27 months after the programs were appropriated to spend this money even though it was not in the 2000 1617 budget.

Once Chairman Murray closed the public hearing with no public comments positive or negative the supervisors then with a 5 to 0 unanimous vote approved the school board to request for the balances of the remaining federal awards.
