Although he was sentenced earlier this year to two life terms plus 20 years for the sexual molestation of his niece, a Virginia Beach jury in the Kahlil Mohammad Muslimani trial has recommended a third life sentence, this time for sexually abusing and fathering at least one child with his stepdaughter Stacey Johnson. The jury deliberated only twenty minutes before arriving at the verdict.
Johnson reportedly had four children fathered by Muslimani. The Commonwealth located one of those children living in Florida and a DNA test revealed a 99% chance that Muslimani was the father. That’s all it took to convict the defendant again.
The defense contended that the charges were based on 30-year-old memories. The charges date back to the 1980s when the family lived in Onancock. Muslimani will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
