The Coast Guard Ice Cutting Boat ‘Chock’ has finally arrived at Tangier. Freezing temperatures lasting more than a week and the recent blizzard locked up everything around the island.
According to Dennis Crockett of Taniger, the island was well stocked but was looking forward to getting fresh supplies in once the cutter made its way in to Tangier.
Crockett also reported good duck hunting on Tangier until the freezing around the Island occurred.
Jay Fleming Photography took the following pictures of the Chock and local Tangiermen making their way around following the cutting of the path through the ice.
