A fire caused by a vehicle destroyed a mobile home in Wachapreague Monday afternoon. 911 received the call at approximately 4:55 p.m. that a pick up driving erratically clipped a telephone pole before crashing into a residence. Both the vehicle and the residence were destroyed by the resulting fire.
The fire occurred at 31322 Church St. in Wachapreague. Firefighters from Wachapreague, Painter, Melfa, Exmore, Tasley and Onancock were initially called to the scene. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. Two individuals were transported to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
