On Saturday, October 6th, the 3rd Annual Northampton Agricultural County Fair took place in Machipongo. From 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., the old grounds of the middle school saw 1,000 visitors enjoying the warm weather. The Side Porch Pickers played live music throughout the day with special guest, Thema Peterson. Guests enjoyed food, contests, 45 antique tractors from the Peninsula Tractor Club, booths for everyone and so much more. A&N Electric Cooperative gave linemen demonstrations throughout the day as well as tours of the Cherrydale Solar Facility. You could have your picture taken with Solar Sam and LED Lucy or pretend you are in a bucket truck above the marsh repairing the Shore’s power.

Kids enjoyed an area where they could play in a corn boxes, have their face painted by a princess, go on a hayride, paint a pumpkin or pet farm animals. The Eastern Shore Ducks Unlimited organization hosted their Greenwing event during the Ag Fair this year.

This event is put on by the Northampton County Chamber of Commerce, the Northampton County Cooperative Extension and the Eastern Shore Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers. Save the date for the 4th Annual Northampton Agricultural County Fair on October 5, 2019.
