The Town of Parksley is completing the process of applying for a Community Development Block Grant for downtown revitalization. If approved, it will result in a general improvement in the downtown area.

The grant would make up to $700,000 available to improve the facades of existing businesses, improve side walks, create walkways to access the new library, install a band stand, an amphitheater and other improvements.

Parksley Town Council Member Frank Russell had this to say:

Letters from the public ins support of the effort are being sought and are due by Friday.

A public hearing on the grant is scheduled for Monday, March 11 at 7:00 PM at the Parksley Town Office.
