Northampton County has been notified that it has been selected as one of the entities which will negotiate to receive an award for two Community Wide Assessment Grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In a letter to Board Chairman Spencer Murray, David R. Lloyd, Director of the Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization for the EPA informed the county of the selection. Lloyd said, “ Northampton County submitted an outstanding grant proposal, and we deeply appreciate the tremendous commitment of time and energy that went into its preparation.”

The two grants will total approximately $300,000. Northampton County Administrator Charles Kolakowski said, “We are pleased to be working with the EPA on implementing these grants in order to facilitate the revitalization of brownfield sites throughout Northampton County. “
