Dry conditions are resulting in a danger of fire in both Accomack and Northampton Counties.

Residents are warned to be very careful when burning outdoors and smokers should not toss cigarettes out of a vehicle onto the road side.

The only measurable rain fell when Hurricane Dorian moved offshore and about an inch and a half was recorded then.  That was two and a half weeks ago and there has been no rain of any consequence since then.

This week is expected to be dry as well.  Please use all precautions.
