The Cape Charles Yacht Center will soon be under new management.

Current owners Eyre and Furlong Baldwin have agreed to lease the facility to JB Turner and Nicole Jaques. Turner owns Front Street Shipyard, a similar facility in Maine.

The initial agreement calls for an 18 month lease.

The new managers intend to develop a multi-year expansion plan with a 30,000 square foot facility for storage, 600 ton mobile lift and additional floating docks.

Turner said he is impressed with the current crew. He felt the company is off to a great start but it needs to be built up.

The Cape Charles Yacht Center was established by the Baldwins in 2013 and features a central location on the East Coast plus deep water capable of handling superyachts.

Turner will remain at the Maine facility full time, but he and Jaques will be spending time in Cape Charles during the transition process. He said the two facilities will work together.
