Four months after the Northampton Board of Supervisors voted to remove the Confederate soldier statue from the county’s historic courthouse green, it is still there.

That troubled Supervisor John Coker at a meeting on Tuesday night, and he asked County Administrator Charles Kolakowski about the progress.

Kolakowski said the town of Eastville had been interested in the tall statue but he hasn’t heard more from the town.

Board Chairman Dixon Leatherbury said the issue has been in “limbo because of the interest expressed by the town of Eastville.”

Kolakowski said the county will seek proposals for its removal and it will be placed in storage until a new location is found.

“Please move it along,” said Coker.
