
Attorney General Jason Miyares visited the Eastern Shore Monday. He attended a special appreciation lunch for local law enforcement officers. Attending along with Miyares was Senator Bill DeSteph and Delegate Rob Bloxom.
Miyares used a question and answer format and discussed matters including the need for more magistrates, getting more timely search warrants and drug issues. He asked about local drug trafficking and was told that the vast majority of drugs comes from the northern cities and some from the Tidewater area.
Miyares thanked those in attendance for all that they do to help protect the public. He said that the most important task for any law officer is to return home at the end of his or her shift.
Following the lunch Miyares visited the WESR studio and was interviewed live on the air with Delegate Rob Bloxom. The interview covered his last four years as Attorney General and the programs he has implemented, fentanyl, human trafficking and education out reach to both law enforcement officers and citizens.
He ended his day at a rally in Nassawadox which was attended by a large crowd.
