Broadwater Academy leaders Christy Bundick and Fran Ryan represented the Eastern Shore of Virginia on a national stage last week, serving as featured speakers at the Annual Conference of the Enrollment Management Association in Austin, Texas, on Friday, September 19.
Bundick, a 2006 Broadwater graduate who has served the school for 12 years in a variety of roles, is currently Director of Middle School and Upper School Admission and Outreach. Ryan, now in his sixth year as Head of School, joined her in addressing enrollment professionals from across the country and around the world. Their presentation focused on leadership development and strategies that support the strength and sustainability of independent schools.
Broadwater Academy has earned strong commendations from the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and was most recently named the best independent school in Eastern Virginia by Virginia Living. The school emphasizes accessibility, with 42 percent of its students receiving tuition assistance, reflecting its mission to serve families of diverse needs and talents along the Eastern Shore.
The expertise Bundick and Ryan shared in Austin was drawn from their work strengthening Broadwater’s role as a premier pre-K through 12 learning community. With a rigorous curriculum, dedicated faculty, and a commitment to developing civic-minded leaders, Broadwater Academy continues to be recognized as a cornerstone of education on the Shore.
