Things you should know ahead of the election

Election Day is approaching and there are two deadlines this week.   Voters have until 5 p.m. Friday October 24 to either request a ballot by mail and to register to vote or update your address to vote by regular ballot in the election.

Voters will be able to vote at both county’s  registrar’s offices this Saturday October and Saturday November 1 from 8:30-5 pm at Sawmill Park in Accomac and at the Northampton Registrar’s Office in Eastville from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Voters can also drop off ballots at collection boxes at the Voter Registrar’s Offices in Accomac and Eastville.

All mail in ballots must be postmarked no later than November 4.

As of Monday morning registrar Angel Shrieves in Accomack County reported 2341 regular early votes.  Northampton County registrar Terry Flynn reported 1270 early regular votes.  Mail in ballots that have been received are not incliuded in these totals.
