As the sun rises on the first day of Fall, there’s a quiet magic in the air. The crisp breeze carries hints of cinnamon and woodsmoke, leaves begin their fiery descent, and our routines subtly pivot to match the rhythm of the season. Gone are the long, sun-drenched days of summer—replaced by golden afternoons, layered clothing, and a craving for warmth in every sense.
Fall doesn’t just paint the landscape in amber and rust; it reshapes our daily lives. Morning walks become brisk walks under canopies of color, weekend barbecues give way to apple-picking and pumpkin patches, and our plates evolve, too, trading watermelon and grilled corn for roasted root vegetables, hearty soups, and spiced everything. Even our moods shift, leaning into introspection and comfort as daylight wanes.
In this look back at Shore Perspectives, folks in the community share how the arrival of autumn gently nudges us to adapt from the way we move through our days to the foods that nourish us. Because when the seasons change, so do we.
