Norma S. Bloxom, 80, of Hallwood, wife of the late William Somers Bloxom, passed away on July 2, 2026 in Nassawadox.

Born on August 22, 1945 in Hopeton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Upshur Dennis Matthews and Nettie Catherine Thornton Matthews. Norma was a homemaker, a loving babysitter and a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, the Redskins Football team and watching Joyce Meyers on t.v. She was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church.

Norma is survived by daughters, Debbie Gray, Sheila Richardson, Darlene Robbins and Crystal Annis; a son, William L. Bloxom; four granddaughters, Courtney Bloxom, Ashlin Bloxom, Vicky Wessells, Alexis Bloxom; and four grandsons, Josh Bloxom, David Lewis, Matthew Lewis and Paul Gray, Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Bloxom.

Northampton Driving Tour

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 3:00 PM from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley with George Fulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Parksley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 2:00PM, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley, VA.
