Delorce Fiddemon

Delorce Mae Fiddemon, a beacon of kindness and resilience, completed her earthly journey on May 30, 2025, at Nassawadox Rehabilitation and Nursing in Nassawadox, Virginia. Born on May 3, 1952, in Willis Wharf, Virginia, she was a treasured daughter, mother, sister, and friend who brought joy and warmth to those around her.

The daughter of Virginia L. Weatherly and the late John H. Giddens, Delorce grew up in a loving home where she learned the values of faith, family, and community service. She was a proud graduate of Northampton High School in Eastville, Virginia. Following her passion for serving others, Delorce embarked on a fulfilling career with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Department, where she dedicated many years before retiring.

Delorce’s commitment to her community was evident through her involvement in St. John’s United Methodist Church in Atlantic, Virginia. She was a devoted member, actively participating in the Usher Board, PPRC Committee, Kitchen Committee, and Cleaning Committee. These roles were a testament to her unwavering faith and desire to serve her church family.

In addition to her service to the church, Delorce will be remembered for her exceptional culinary skills and the joy she took in cooking. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, laughter, and shared meals that nourished both body and spirit. Moreover, Delorce’s dedication extended to the next generation as she lovingly babysat children in the community, leaving a legacy of nurturing and education that will be fondly remembered by many.

Delorce was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Fiddemon.

Delorce Mae Fiddemon lived a life full of love, service, and caring for others. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her, yet her spirit and teachings will continue to guide and inspire. Her life was a precious gift, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Delorce’s journey on earth has concluded, but the love and light she shared remain as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived.

She will be remembered by her mother, Virginia Weatherly; sons, Tony Roselle (Tasha) and Marcus (Kay) Roselle; grandchildren, Jaquante Roselle Kaden Hendrix Roselle, NyQuisha Miller, and Nyisha Custis; great-grandchildren, TaNya Culter and Trinity Culter; siblings, Carryon Weatherly (Thomas), David Weatherly, Rouchelle Ayres, John (Karen) Burton, Micheal Burrell, Fred Ayres, Mattie Ayres, and Larry Ayres; stepmother, Gracie Ayres; bonus family, Merlin, Oscar, Sophia, Pablo, and Joshua; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 AM from St. John’s U. M. Church, Atlantic, with Rev. Gregory Duncan, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
