Mary Etta Drummond Miller was born on July 10, 1949 in Assawoman, Virginia to the late William and Mable Drummond. She departed this life on March 7, 2022 from unforeseen health complications at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, surrounded by an abundance of love from her family and friends.

On March 19, 1970, she married Martin Miller in Atlantic, Virginia, where they resided for most of their lives until they moved to New Church, Virginia in 1995. Mary attended the public schools in Accomack County. She worked for Tyson Foods for twenty-five years until her retirement in 2004. Mary and Martin were members of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Temperanceville, Virginia. They enjoyed hearing the good Word and praising God’s name together.

Mary was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed the small things in life. She enjoyed playing cards, watching Westerns, eating crabs, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary loved her family and friends and was always willing to help any family member in need.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her adopted mother, Evelyn Drummond; son, Tiffer Miller; brother, Alonza (Shirley) Drummond; sister, Alice Taylor; sister-in-law, Gloria Handy; brothers-in-law, John C. Miller, David Miller, Sr., Donald Miller, and David Dorsey.

Mary will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her devoted husband, Martin Miller; brothers, Corbin (Earline) Drummond and William Drummond; sisters, Barbara Williams and Williamina Dorsey; daughter-in-law, Linda (Thornton) Miller; grandchildren, Tiffer (Shontaye) Miller and Tadrain Miller, whom she raised as her own, Tiara Miller, and Brandon Parker; nephew whom she raised as her own, John (Elaine) Taylor; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
