Irma Mae Hancock

Irma Mae Hancock, 99, of Lake Park, wife of the late Carlton Henry Hancock, passed away on May 22, 2025 in Lake Park, GA.

Born on March 8, 1926, on Chincoteague Island, VA, she was the daughter of the late Hillary Clark and Audrey Bowden Clark. Irma was a homemaker and a dedicated member of Zion Baptist Church in Parksley, VA, and later at First Baptist Church in Lake Park, GA. She enjoyed decorating and antique toys. Irma found great joy in teaching and evangelistic outreach in the church.

Irma is survived by a son, Jim Hancock of Lake Park, GA; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of adopted grandchildren.

Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Sue Walker, Nov. 28, 2013.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM from Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Michael French officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church to support mission work.
