Haywood Johnson

Haywood Ladell Johnson of Hare Valley, Virginia, the husband of Earline Anderson-Johnson, peacefully drifted into eternal rest on December 9, 2024, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia. Haywood was the middle son born to the late William Sr., and Margaret Giddings Johnson, on September 13, 1955, in Northampton County, Virginia.

Haywood was educated in the Northampton County School System. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. During his military tenure, he accomplished several awards and adventures. Being part of the 82nd Airborne and being awarded Jungle Expert were his 2 favorites. He was honorably discharged. He later joined the Army Reserves and became a Drill Sergeant.

Haywood earned a degree in Electrical Wiring at Tidewater Community College. He became a licensed Electrician, which he was proud of and loved doing. He tried Truck Driving for a while, but his heart was doing electrical work. He helped build Walmart, Riverside Hospital, and two middle schools in Accomac County.

“Boy did he have a way with words.”
