Gary Crowell of Parksley

The funeral service for Gary Crowell, originally scheduled for Saturday at 11am from the Thornton Funeral Home, has been post-phoned.

Gary Odell Crowell, 65, of Parksley, passed away on July 9, 2023 in Virginia Beach.

Born on January 20, 1958 in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of the late Raleigh Odell Crowell and Nancy L. Shrieves Crowell. Gary was a welder by trade, but was a jack of all trades, proficient in electrical work, HVAC and construction. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, painting and drawing, and collecting coins and arrowheads. He enjoyed music and loved to cook and grill. A gentle giant, Gary was very loving and generous. He was an intelligent person who would give you the shirt off his back.

Gary is survived by Sister, Teresa Lynne Fears of Atlantic, VA.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Crowell.
