W.R. “Bobby” Groton, 82, husband of the late Betty Farlow Groton and a resident of Painter, VA, passed away on October 1, 2024, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Craddockville, VA, he was the son of the late Lionel and Veta Guy Groton. He is a retired farmer and truck driver and was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church and the Peninsula Tractor Club.
He is survived by a daughter, A. Joel Parks of Painter, VA; two sisters and a brother, Betty Belle Flowers; Rita Hope Kelley; and Guy Groton and their families. He is predeceased by a son W. Rod Groton, Jr.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 2 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Charlene Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice.
