Bob Sterling of Exmore

Robert Mann Sterling, better known as Bob, 64, a resident of Exmore, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Cedarview, VA, he was the son of the late J. Garland Sterling, Jr. and the late Irene Outten Sterling. He was a retired Engineering Assistant for Wallops N.A.S.A. and a member of Craddockville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two brothers, Glenn Sterling and his wife, Sherry, of Cedarview, and Jerry Sterling and his wife, Diane, of Accomac, VA; a niece, Laurel Sterling Rippon and her husband, Wilson; and two nephews, Bryan Garland Sterling and his wife, Mary, and Brandon Jay Sterling and his wife, Nan. He was predeceased by a nephew, Jordan Lewis Sterling.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 8:30AM, per Bob’s wishes, at Doughty Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Parks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Craddockville United Methodist Church, c/o June Custis, P.O. Box 66, Craddockville, VA 23341 or Shore History, P.O. Box 179, Onancock, VA 23417.
