Bill Fitzgerald of Onancock

Mr. William Lee “Bill” Fitzgerald, 84, husband of the late Billie Lou Barnes Fitzgerald and a resident of Nancock Gardens, Onancock, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA.

Born February 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Forrest L. Fitzgerald and Catherine Milliner Fitzgerald.  Bill lived in Portsmouth, VA in his youth, before moving to the Eastern Shore.  After graduating from East Carolina University, he had a 22-year teaching career with Accomack County Public Schools, and served his state in the Virginia National Guard.

Survivors include four cousins, James Milliner, George Davis and his wife Deborah, Robert Davis, and Debbie Hardstock.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA  23418, or to a charity of one’s choice.
