Virginia Doughty Nottingham, 100, wife of the late Clifford Arrington Nottingham, Jr., a resident and native of Exmore, VA, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Severn Benjamin Doughty and the late Ruth Walker Doughty. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Accomack and Northampton County Public Schools as well as Broadwater Academy.  She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, a charter member of Ye Accawmacke Garden Club and the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club and a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College (Longwood University).

She is survived by a son, Clifford Arrington Nottingham, III, M.D. and his wife, Mary, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Charles Upshur Nottingham, M.D., and his wife, Amy Armstrong, M.D., and Louis Bove Nottingham, PhD., and his fiancée, Molly Darr, PhD.; and a great granddaughter, Charlotte Olivia Nottingham, as well as several nephews.  She is predeceased by two brothers, Severn Benjamin Doughty, Jr., and Charles Carmine Doughty.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 24, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Mikang Kim officiating.  Family will join friends after the service.  A private interment will follow in Franktown Cemetery.
