The Arcadia Firebirds varsity baseball team defeated Westmoreland 9–1 on Friday. BJ White went 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs.
Dalton Barnes and Dylan Chesser also contributed with RBI doubles. Barnes started the game and pitched three innings, allowing one run and striking out eight. White closed the game with four scoreless innings, striking out eight and giving up just two hits.
Arcadia tallied 13 hits overall, with Chesser, Danny Wallace, and Larry Handy recording multiple. The Firebirds return to action Monday at Isle of Wight Academy.
Saturday
The Nandua Warriors baseball team faced Middlesex on Saturday and fell by a score of 16–1. Austin Wert started on the mound and was charged with the loss.
Offensively, the Warriors recorded four hits. Greg Lessard led the team with two, while Hayden Williams and Jordan Snead each added one.
Nandua drops to 2–1 on the season and will return to action Tuesday when they host Lancaster.
