Softball
The Broadwater Lady Vikings softball team traveled to face the Arcadia Lady Firebirds on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Vikings won the game by a score of 4–1. Ramsey Revelle started on the mound for Broadwater and earned the win, pitching seven innings and allowing one unearned run on four hits while striking out eight batters. Ryann Giddens started for Arcadia and took the loss, pitching six innings and giving up two unearned runs on four hits with 10 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Lady Vikings recorded seven hits. Adrianna Holloway led the team, going 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. Miranda Smith, Kacey Ford, Tatum Watson, Elana Hickman, and Ava Webb each added a hit. The Lady Firebirds collected four hits, with Giddens, Taylor Benedict, Deeana Bradley, and Kaylee Shreaves each contributing one.
The Lady Vikings improve to 10–1 on the season and will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Greenbrier Christian. The Lady Firebirds fall to 2–5 and will play again Monday at John Marshall.
Baseball
The Broadwater Vikings baseball team also traveled to play the Arcadia Firebirds on Thursday afternoon, winning 10–6. Izid Tountas earned the win on the mound for the Vikings, pitching 4 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out nine.
The Vikings tallied eight hits. Aiden Fuller led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. The Firebirds recorded five hits, including a home run from Zach Giddens, who went 1-for-3.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 6–5–1 on the season and will travel to Greenbrier Christian on Tuesday. The Firebirds fall to 2–5 and are scheduled to face John Marshall on Monday.
