Vikings notch victory on Senior Day

Broadwater Viking enjoyed a 50-7 win over Rappahannock Saturday Afternoon. Broadwater celebrated their senior day and recognized the following seniors: Olsen Pruitt, Jacob Seltzer, Izid Tountas, Aidan Fuller, Cohen Kellam, Jake Haynes, Grayson Ross, John Moore, Jackson Hart, Noah Pruitt, Logan Arnold, and Conner Stokes.

The first half saw Rappahannock driving down field with success in the run game until a fumble was recovered by Noah Pruitt. This led to a receiving touchdown by Jake Haynes thrown by Cohen Kellam to make the score 8-0. The rest of the half saw Jacob Seltzer add two touchdowns rushing, one of 81 yards and another for 79 yards giving the Vikings a 22-0 lead come halftime.

The third quarter started off with a bang for the Vikings with Eli Destro returning a kickoff for 75 yards and a touchdown. Later in the second half Destro would return a kickoff for 70 yards and another touchdown. The Vikings also scored two more touchdowns in the second half. Aidan Fuller took a carry for 54 yards and Olsen Pruitt recovered a fumble in the third quarter. The game ended with the Vikings winning 50-7 with quarterback Cohen Kellam completing 6 of 7 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Jacob Seltzer had 4 carries for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns also winning the Bojangles player of the game handed out by WESR.

The Vikings are the #3 seed in the VISAA Division 1 playoffs and will face the #2 seed Brunswick Academy Vikings Thursday night in the opening round.
