Vikings fall in close one to Isle of Wight

The Broadwater Vikings baseball team traveled to Isle of Wight on Thursday afternoon, falling 6-5 in a closely contested game.

Eli Destro started on the mound and took the loss, pitching 6 2/3 innings while allowing six unearned runs on four hits, striking out five, and issuing five walks.

Offensively, the Vikings recorded six hits in the game. Izid Tountas, Eli Destro, Cohen Kellam, Chris Ames, Bennit Custis, and Danny Gallivan each contributed a hit.

The Vikings drop to 1-2 on the season and will return to action on March 26 at Chincoteague.
