The Nandua Warriors baseball team hosted John Marshall on Tuesday afternoon and came away with a 10-0 victory. Hayden Williams got the start on the mound and earned the win, pitching three hitless innings while striking out nine batters. Braeden Smith pitched the final two innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Offensively, the Warriors collected nine hits. Austin Wert went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI, while Hayden Williams went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Aiden McIntyre and Braeden Smith also had doubles in the game.
The Warriors advance to the quarterfinals and will travel to King William on Thursday.
The Arcadia Firebirds baseball team hosted Amelia on Tuesday afternoon and secured a 3-0 win. BJ White pitched a complete game, allowing just one hit and no runs over seven innings while striking out 14 batters.
Offensively, the Firebirds had three hits. Waylon Watson and Josh Woolford each contributed a hit.
Arcadia advances to the quarterfinals and will play at Central Lunenburg on Thursday.
Softball
The Arcadia Lady Firebirds softball team hosted Amelia on Tuesday and earned a 3-0 victory. Ryann Giddins got the start and the win, pitching seven innings of one-hit, shutout softball while striking out 10 batters.
The Lady Firebirds managed two hits offensively—one each from Giddins and Brinlee Kauthen.
Arcadia advances to the quarterfinals and will play at Poquoson on Thursday.
