
Baseball
The Nandua Warriors baseball team hosted Holly Grove Christian on Tuesday afternoon and earned a dominant 15–1 victory. Austin Wert started on the mound and picked up the win for the Warriors, pitching two innings and allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out four batters.
Offensively, the Warriors collected seven hits as a team. Hayden Williams went 2-for-2 with a double and drove in three runs. Bruce Mathews, Aiden McIntyre, Kaden Adamos, Braeden Smith, and Jordan Snead each added a hit.
The Warriors return to action on Friday when they travel to Lancaster to face Nottoway.
The Arcadia Firebirds baseball team traveled to Norfolk Christian on Tuesday afternoon and fell by a score of 10–5. Dalton Barnes started on the mound and was charged with the loss. He pitched four innings, giving up five earned runs on seven hits while striking out six.
Arcadia had six hits in the game. Barnes also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double. Dylan Chessar, Hale, Larry Handy, and Blake Liddle each recorded a hit.
The Firebirds are back in action on Friday when they travel to face Westmoreland.
Softball
The Arcadia Lady Firebirds softball team traveled to Norfolk Christian on Tuesday afternoon and came away with a 10–0 shutout win. Ryann Giddens started on the mound and earned the win, pitching five scoreless innings while striking out nine.
The Lady Firebirds had 13 hits in the game. Megan Montross went 3-for-4 with a double, while Giddens went 2-for-3 with a home run. Olivia Lynch and Taylor Benedict each added two hits.
Arcadia will return to action on Friday when they host Kent Island.
The Nandua Lady Warriors softball team hosted Holly Grove Christian on Tuesday afternoon and suffered a tough 30–1 loss. Kylie Killmon started on the mound and was charged with the loss.
The Lady Warriors recorded three hits in the game. Peyton Truckner, Amirrah Church, and Corrin Burrell each had one hit.
Nandua returns to action on Friday when they travel to Washington.
