The Arcadia Lady Firebirds delivered a winning performance Thursday night, securing a 44-23 victory over the Chincoteague Lady Ponies in a district matchup.
With the win, Arcadia improves to 10-5, continuing their strong campaign as they prepare to host Northampton on Tuesday. Their balanced attack and defensive pressure proved too much for Chincoteague, who now falls to 1-9. The Lady Ponies will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they travel to Nandua.
The Nandua Lady Warriors also impressed on the road Thursday night, earning a 46-23 win over the Northampton Lady Yellow Jackets.
Nandua improves to 7-8, moving closer to a .500 record as they prepare to host Chincoteague on Tuesday. A strong defensive effort and efficient scoring paved the way for the decisive win. Northampton, now 1-9, will look to regroup when they travel to Arcadia on Tuesday.
Boys Basketball
The Arcadia Firebirds put on an offensive showcase Thursday night, rolling to an 82-50 road victory over the Chincoteague Ponies.
With the win, Arcadia improves to 12-5, continuing their strong push as they prepare to host Northampton on Tuesday. Their high-powered offense and aggressive play overwhelmed Chincoteague, who now stands at 5-9. The Ponies will look to rebound when they travel to Nandua on Tuesday.
The Northampton Yellow Jackets delivered a commanding performance on their home court Thursday night, cruising to an 80-31 victory over the Nandua Warriors.
With the win, Northampton improves to 6-10, using a relentless defense and a strong offensive attack to secure the decisive victory. The Yellow Jackets will look to carry their momentum into Tuesday’s game at Arcadia. Nandua, now 6-8, will aim to bounce back when they host Chincoteague on Tuesday.
