Virginia Tech football will face the University of Minnesota in the 2024 Duke’s Mayo Bowl on January 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game marks the Hokies’ first bowl appearance since 2021 under head coach Brent Pry.
Coach Pry called the game a significant step for the program and a reward for the players’ hard work. “This is a big step forward for our program,” Pry said. “We’re excited for the opportunity to compete and represent Virginia Tech on this stage.”
Virginia Tech’s opponent, Minnesota, also brings a 6-6 record into the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. Key players to watch for Virginia Tech include quarterback Kyron Drones, who has been instrumental in the team’s offensive efforts, and linebacker Kelly Lawson, a standout on defense.
