The Predators Super Junior Hockey Team captured the 2026 Eastern Shore Super Hockey League (ESSHL) youth championship following a two-game sweep of the Mud Dogs in the league’s title series.
The championship, held March 21, capped off a season that ran from January through March, with games played Saturday mornings at the Parksley rink. The Predators secured the title in a best-of-three series, defeating the Mud Dogs 4-1 in Game One and 3-1 in Game Two.
League organizer Jennie Rice said this year’s youth program included two teams in the 4–7 age group and four teams competing in the 8–12 division. In addition, the league continues to host nine mixed adult and youth teams, with players ranging in age from 12 to 70, competing every other Sunday.
The Predators entered the season as a developing team but showed steady improvement throughout the winter. Under the guidance of coaches Jennie Rice, Thomas Eno, and Connor Tyler, players built their skills, teamwork, and confidence over the course of the season.
By the playoffs, that growth translated into results, as the team came together to secure the league championship.
Team members include Richard Allen Johnson, Romeo Arizmendi, Elizabeth Abe, Brayden Johnson, Scarlett McDonald, Carter Ames, Jonathan Martin, Kayson Stubbs, and Charlotte McDonald. Coaches Jennie Rice and Connor Tyler were present for the championship photo.
