The Chincoteague Ponies were able to survive a Viking come back in the opening game of the 2024 high school football season, defeating the home standing Broadwater 22-20 on Bynum Field Saturday afternoon.

The Ponies were lead by Camuary Davis, who was named WESR’s Bojangles Player of the Game.

The Ponies travel to Kenston Forest in Blackstone, VA to play the Kavaliers on Thursday. The Vikings play next when they travel to Greenbrier Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Friday.
