The Chincoteague Ponies claimed victory in a close three-team match on Tuesday, posting a team score of 183 to narrowly defeat Nandua, who finished with 186. Northampton rounded out the competition with a combined score of 224.
Leading the way for Chincoteague was Bryce Luck, carding a 41 over nine holes. Micah Bennicoff and Owen Bloxom each added solid rounds of 46, while Corey Saulsbury contributed a 50 to secure the team’s win.
Despite Nandua falling just short in the team standings, the day’s Low Medalist honors went to Nandua’s Toryn Ibarra, who fired an impressive 39.
The Ponies will return to action on Thursday at 1 p.m. for another nine-hole match at Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club (ESYCC).
