The Onancock Volunteer Fire Department’s Croaker Classic Saturday raised over $15,000 for the local volunteer fire company. More than 315 anglers took to Onancock Creek to fish.
The tournament champion was Ray Willet, who caught a .99 lb croaker. Kelly Lattimore came in second with a .69 pounder and was the ladies champion, Josh Yunker took third with his .67 lb fish. The youth division champion was Baylor Booker who caught a .51 lb croaker. Chase Sturgis’ .59 lb croaker earned him the First Responders award and Chad Parks took home the prestigious smallest croaker award, at .09 lbs. CL Marshall caught the biggest non-croaker fish with an 11.96 pound black drum.
