Northampton defeats Nandua to win District Championship

In what can be only called a barnburner, the Northampton Yellow Jackets held on to defeat the Nandua Warriors Friday night 36-34.

The Yellow Jackets seemingly had the game in hand with just a little over 2 minutes left with a 36-26 lead. But a last minute touchdown and two point conversion after a fumble recovery by Nandua narrowed the gap to two points with just under a minute on the clock.

Northampton managed to hold on to run out the clock for the win.  This game capped a late season revival of the Warriors who started the season with several losses only to win two and a row, defeating Arcadia and Washington the last two weeks.

The Yellow Jackets now move on the the playoffs.  Their opponent will be announced early next week.
