Monday evening sports update

Baseball
The Northampton Yellow Jackets baseball team traveled to Bruton on Monday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets lost the game by a score of 11 to 3. Brayden Downing got the start on the mound for the Yellow Jackets and got the loss. Downing pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up 9 runs with 1 being earned on 4 hits and 4 strikeouts.

The Yellow Jackets had 6 hits in the game. Brock Leland went 3-3 in the game. Lucas Kindt, Porter Spence, and Caleb Champion each had a hit in the game.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Friday as they traveled to Franklin on Friday.

Softball
The Northampton Lady Yellow Jackets softball team traveled to Bruton on Monday afternoon. The Lady Yellow Jackets lost the game by a score of 20 to 8. Hailey Dinwiddie got the start on the mound and the loss.

Offensively, the Lady Yellow Jackets had 9 hits in the game. Ryleigh Caison went 3-3 at the plate. Hailey Dinwiddie, Ortavia Rogers, and Miracle Brandon each had 2 hits in the game.

The Lady Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday as they travel to Franklin on Friday.
