Northampton’s Cross Country Team competed in the VHSL Class 1 State Championship on Saturday, November 11th.
Two girls from the team qualified as individual runners. Junior Lizania Uscanga-Morales placed 31st and freshman Sophie Tayloe placed 44th, both set personal records for states. This was Lizania’s third time competing at states, she looks forward to qualifying next year. The boys team qualified and seven runners ran saturday afternoon.
Since this was the first time for all of the boys they all set personal records for states. The top five runners finished in under 20 minutes.
The team placed 8th out of 12 teams. There were 99 runners in the boys division and 96 in the girls division.
