The Northampton Yellow Jackets are headed to the VHSL state championship match after defeating Auburn 5-1 in the state semifinals Friday.
Senior forward Luke Jones led the offensive attack with four goals, while Sebastian Mayorga added another score as Northampton secured the decisive victory.
The Yellow Jackets will play for the state title at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roanoke College. Northampton will face the winner of Friday’s other state semifinal matchup between Rappahannock Raiders and Galax Maroon Tide.
